What does it mean to be a Light? Sailors understand the power of a beacon guiding them home and keeping them from shoals and hazardous rocks. A light serves many purposes: It heals, it guides, it warms, it illuminates, it causes things to grow. Is it any wonder you are encouraged to know you are the Light? We are not speaking of physical light, but the Light of Consciousness. Why do we use this analogy? For the parallels are the same. If you are the Light of Consciousness—of Spirit, of God—and God is Love, then it begins to dawn on you that this use of Love and Light are synonymous. Go back and replace “light” with “Love” in our list of purposes and you will see the Light as well.
Light is relentless in its tenacity to reach out. In the darkest of rooms where the door seems shut, it can find its way in through the tiniest sliver of unseen openness. If nothing else, just to make it clear that it hasn’t gone away.
