Santa Claus comes down the chimney tonight.  A child is born in a manger not much later.  The two are not connected except by a date.  Are they true?  Both are stories to describe gifts that propel life toward better times.  You are living a story.  Is it real?  You hear stories of an afterlife in which your loved ones watch over you and await your reunion.  There are some who believe this story, and it helps them get through the day.  There are others who do not believe it, and they suffer.  You KNOW the truth.  This is what distinguishes Truth from a fictional story … the knowing.  Do you exist?  Are you real?  In the same way that you know the answer is yes you also know that those who have passed still exist, are with you in your heart, and await your reunion.  May this knowing be the greatest gift you hold on this holy-day.
